AOKA Creations ("AOKA Creations", "we", "us" or "our") (ABN 50 835 703 288) is an Australian business based in New South Wales that builds tools, resources and experiences supporting emotional wellbeing, reflection and personal growth — including the Next Moment app. AOKA Creations is the data controller responsible for your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information across our website and products. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information with care.

1. Information we collect

We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

• Contact information — such as your name and email address, only when you choose to contact us.
• App account information — if you create an account in one of our apps, we may store an identifier and basic preferences needed to provide the service.
• Reflections and entries — content you create within our apps. Where possible, this is stored securely and treated as private to you.
• Usage and device data — anonymous or aggregated information such as app version, device type and crash diagnostics, used to keep our products reliable.
• Voice input — if you choose to speak instead of type, we make a short audio recording on your device only to turn it into text. The audio is not stored after it has been transcribed.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain and improve our products and services;
• Respond to your enquiries and provide support;
• Understand how our products are used, so we can make them better;
• Keep our products secure and diagnose technical issues.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your private reflections for advertising.

Anonymised insights and research. We may produce and publish anonymised, aggregated insights about how our products are used and how people experience emotional wellbeing (for example, "most people feel calmer after a breathing session"). These insights are drawn only from large groups, never include your individual records or the content of your reflections, and cannot be used to identify you.

3. Legal basis and applicable law

We handle your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you use our products from the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we also comply with the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

Where required, we rely on your consent, on our legitimate interest in operating and improving our products, and on the performance of the service you have requested. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us or by ceasing to use the relevant product.

4. Sharing of information

We only share information with trusted service providers who help us operate our products (for example, secure hosting and analytics), and only to the extent necessary. These providers are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law.

AI features and voice. Some features use artificial intelligence to respond to what you share. When you use a reflective feature (such as Reflect, Reframe or Release), the text you enter is sent securely to OpenAI, a US-based AI provider, to generate a response; OpenAI does not use your content to train its models. If you choose to speak instead of type, your short audio recording is sent securely to OpenAI to be transcribed into text, and the audio itself is not stored. These features involve a transfer of information to the United States, carried out under appropriate safeguards.

Crash and performance monitoring. To help us detect and fix technical issues quickly, our apps use Sentry, a crash-reporting and performance-monitoring service, to collect anonymous technical diagnostics such as app version, device model, operating system version, and error stack traces. This never includes your reflections, journal entries, AI conversations, or any personal information. You are identified only by a random, anonymous identifier that is not linked to your account, email, or device advertising identifiers.

5. Data storage and security

We use reputable infrastructure providers and apply technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we work to safeguard your data and limit access to it.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see "Your rights" below).

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also delete your account directly within our apps at any time. To exercise these rights, email us at [email protected].

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you may also request data portability and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). In Australia, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

8. Children's privacy

Our products are not directed to children under the age required by local law without appropriate consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

9. International users

AOKA Creations is based in Australia. If you access our products from outside Australia, your information may be processed in Australia or in other countries where our service providers operate, under appropriate safeguards.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated through our website or apps where appropriate.
